It’s safe to say there are not too many people having a better 2017 than Cardi B. Her transformation from a rising Bronx rapper to worldwide hip-hop star was quicker than her bars on the second verse of “Bodak Yellow, and with her down-to-earth appeal and irresistible charm, Bardi has made herself a household name in less than two years.

The success of “Bodak Yellow” was not one many projected, but Cardi did. In August, she “felt it in my soul” that the track was going to be huge. These days, it’s hard not to hear the song on the radio, in the club or at that house party you went to last week.

The industry has recognized the song’s growth, with the RIAA marking the accomplishment by sharing it went three-times platinum. “THANK YOU GUYS !!!!!Wouldn’t be possible with out y’all !!,” she wrote to fans. To date, Cardi has the longest-running No. 1 track by a solo female rapper.

The “Lick” rapper’s work ethic thus far has earned her nearly a dozen nominations and a handful of accolades. Today, Cardi B earned two nominations for the 2018 Grammy Awards, set to air live on Jan. 28 from New York City. “Bodak Yellow” has been nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, leaving Cardi to compete with Kendrick Lamar, JAY-Z, Migos, Big Sean, Rapsody, Danger Mouse, Run the Jewels and Big Boi for the win.

On her most recent Instagram post, Cardi took a video of the Philadelphia Eagles dancing to “Bodak Yellow” and wrote, “Reason why Bodak Yellow is nominated 😏cause no matter how much you front !you turn up like this when it comes on 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾Greatful and Thankful .I already feel like a winner !!”

With all eyes on Cardi B, XXL takes a look at all of her award wins since her debut. Take a look below.

  • Best New Hip Hop Artist

    2017 BET Hip Hop Awards

Though Aminé, Kodak Black, Tee Grizzley and Playboi Carti have had a great year, Cardi has had more airplay by a landslide, making her the best candidate for Best New Hip Hop Artist. Kodak shouldn’t be too bothered by her win; after all, she did admittedly take his flow from “No Flockin” for her hit record.

  • Single of the Year

    2017 BET Hip Hop Awards

It’s no surprise “Bodak Yellow” won single of the year. The J. White Did It-produced cut continues its run on the charts for its 21st week, and peaked at No. 1 on Oct. 7 for three consecutive weeks. The track has been the center of controversy and even Janet Jackson danced to it, both of which Cardi took to with a humble heart.

  • Rhythm & Bars

    2017 Soul Train Music Awards

The Rhythm & Bars trophy at the Soul Train Music Awards is equivalent to the Hip-Hop Song of the Year. Cardi beat out DJ Khaled (“Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller), French Montana (“Unforgettable” featuring Swae Lee), Kendrick Lamar (“Humble”) and Yo Gotti (“Rake It Up” featuring Nicki Minaj). “Bodak Yellow” for the win (again).

  • Best Mixtape

    2017 BET Hip Hop Awards

Cardi’s January mixtape Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2 was a mere foreshadow into the year she would have. The project’s standout track, “Lick” was also our first time seeing her and Offset in action. We all know how that ended up.

  • 2017 Spirit of Detroit

    City of Detroit

When the City of Detroit announced they’d given their prized Spirit of Detroit Award to Cardi, many of the city’s native rap artists weren’t too pleased. Kash Doll tweeted, “I can’t believe my city,” among other things, while Royce 5’9″ voiced his disappointment in an Instagram video. Either way, Cardi felt “very special and blessed” to even be considered.

  • Hustler of the Year

    2017 BET Hip Hop Awards

Chance The Rapper, Diddy, Kendrick Lamar, DJ Khaled and JAY-Z have been making major money moves this year. Cardi, however, has been coming harder than most for the majority of 2017, making this win well-deserved over the guys.

  • Made-You-Look

    2017 BET Hip Hop Awards

Love her or hate her, Cardi B has style that goes way farther than her love for Uggs or red bottoms. The Bronx slayer beat out Nicki Minaj, Migos A$AP Rocky and Future for the award; big ups to her style team, including Mikiel Benyamin and Kollin Carter.
